Yet another prize for the 'Drop of Life' app awarded jointly to Asseco SEE Croatia and students of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics

The app intended for making a direct connection between blood donors and transfusion and blood collection centres is a joint invention developed by a team of students of the Faculty of Organization and Informatics and the Asseco SEE company. It was awarded as the best creative and innovative social responsibility project at the 8th Creativity and Innovation Days in May.

Submitted as an assignment at the Ready Steady Code! programming competition organized by Asseco SEE in November last year, 'The Drop of Life' App has already received the 'Pride of Croatia' award.

The triumphant team is currently upgrading the App to make it available to the public as soon as possible. Its system comprises two solutions: a web app for the institutions and a mobile app for blood donors. The latter can be installed on smartphones, and will serve the purpose of finding the nearest location where an individual can donate blood. Furthermore, the institutions will be able to keep the records of donations and blood supplies on their interface, and invite the donors to give their contributions in case their blood type is in demand. The app will be available free of charge to all users.
