Expanding Asseco’s Global Footprint in Solutions Helping Markets Mature and Innovate

2015 was a good year for Asseco South Eastern Europe

A message from Piotr Jeleński

2015 was a good year for Asseco South Eastern Europe for what I would like to thank our employees, clients and partners. During last year we signed interesting contracts which contributed to the strong financial performance of the company reflected by an increase of net profit by 12 percent compared to the same period of the last year. We expanded our business beyond the SEE region. We won the first deal in Africa and two first contracts in Italy. Moreover in 2015 we partnered our clients – big international banking groups – in the process of the digitalisation of their offer and services. We also signed our biggest so far contact for public administration in Croatia for the Croatian Sate. With our new customers’ acquisitions, the move expands Asseco’s global footprint in architecting and integrating turn-key solutions that help emerging markets mature and developed markets innovate in banking, e-payment, public administration and other industries.

Although 2015 sales revenues of the Asseco South Eastern Group were at a similar level as the 2014 sales revenues, their structure changed considerably. Sales revenues from own products and services in the Payment and Banking units grew whereas at the same time we could observe a decrease of sales revenues from third party solutions in the System Integration unit. This fact contributed to the increase in gross profit on sales which amounted to 25.7% after four quarters of 2015, up by 2.2 percentage point compared to the same period of the last year.

We have started 2016 with more exciting projects such as our next contracts in Africa – this time in Egypt where we signed a deal with the Global Leasing Company for our LeaseFlex solution and in Republic of Benin, Republic of Guinea and Burkina Faso where we successfully implemented  proprietary solution for POS terminals Paypro, in cooperation with our long-term partners, Ingenico and Societe Generale Bank. We also contributed to a smooth implementation of the legal changes in Serbian banks and successfully finished the implementation of the first phase of the development of the software solution for mobile payment for M:tel a.d. Banja Luka’s clients.

Being part of the 6th largest software vendor in Europe, Assece SEE strategically plans to expand in Middle East and Africa and further in Italy while constantly seeking more markets to conquer. We will also continue to assist our clients in the process of digital transformation and further consolidate Payment business market by acquisitions and by introducing new products and services to our portfolio.
