Most Complex Open Banking Implementation in Romania

The excellent collaboration between ASEE and CEC Bank with regards to the implementation of the Internet and Mobile Banking application was recently enhanced with a new feature added by ASEE in the Mobile Banking channel, aiming at ensuring enriched customer experience: offering the bank’s clients the possibility to access in one place the financial information aggregated from all the accounts the customer holds in other banks.

This is so far the most complex open banking implementation in Romania, aggregating a total of 9 financial institutions (8 commercial banks + Revolut). The functionality deployed in the mobile application allows customers to view their account balance and their transaction history, while accessing a single channel. Future developments in the next quarter will also include initiating payments from those accounts within CEC Bank’s application. These new options offered by the bank not only ensure an improved customer experience, but also contribute to the bank’s customer retention and new customer acquiring strategies.
