Direktna Banka and Piraeus Bank Merged with Tech Support by Asseco SEE

Another successful partnership project between Asseco SEE and Direktna banka in Serbia has resulted in a smooth and complete merger of two banks, Direktna banka and Piraues bank, with regard to their core systems.

As an IT provider which offers proprietary systems for core banking operations, Asseco SEE was the first choice and a partner expected to take part in the merger activities, since both banks used Asseco SEE’s core systems, though different ones. The main challenge was to migrate data from Bapo core system used in Piraeus bank to Pub 2000 core system used in Direktna banka within the fixed period of only six months. Both teams, Asseco SEE’s and the bank’s, were highly committed to overcoming challenges and differences between two business and information systems in all segments, with a goal to contribute to Direktna banka’s endeavours to become even bigger and more attractive for the customers.

In the course of the project, a decision was made to broaden the scope and implement Asseco SEE’s collateral management system, as well as to improve a web bank. Furthermore, responding to the bank’s request, Asseco SEE supported the integration of the core system with an external partner‘s card system.

In the end, fuelled by immense motivation, dedication and team spirit, the goal for even four simultaneous projects was completed as planned with the stability and reliability of all implemented solutions and services. On top of that, the overall goal, customer satisfaction, has been accomplished once more.
