Increased efficiency in processing documents at Transilvania Bank, thanks to Kofax technology implemented by Asseco SEE

For a banking institution, the ability to quickly access and process the information, no matter the format, represents not only a competitive advantage, but a real imperative. Manual processing of the data from documents (payment orders, promissory notes, checks, garnishments and others) is a careful and time consuming work involving the occurrence of some problems such as: delays in a data picking up process, operating mistakes, high personnel expenditures and rented spaces for the employees. On top of that we can add the problem for every bank with the high traffic of documents in a paper format and the risk of their loss or destruction.

The documents’ automatic scanning and processing software solution developed by Asseco SEE is essentially an automatic system for data capturing allowing the scanning of any type of document arriving in any branch, agency or a working point of the bank, their transfer to the processing center facilitating an automatic and rapid taking over of the information existing in the documents or of the handwritten letters. Subsequently, these stages are followed by the correcting / checking of information and its export to the subsequent processing within the core banking system or in other systems of a line of business type, implemented in the bank.

The project of the two IT integrators implemented at Transilvania Bank enables moving  from a decentralized processing way, characterized by a physical exchange of documents to a centralized processing way, based on the transmission of images and electronic messages. The bank’s employees’ activity is thus much easier as well as the clients’ collaboration with the bank. The number of documents processed per hour has increased considerably, and the processing time allotted for a document has been reduced. The authenticity of the scanned information is provided by a package of checking instruments supplied by the solution during the documents’ processing track.

The solution was implemented in June 2014 in 550 units of Transilvania Bank, the third bank in size within the Romanian bank system.

The implementation portfolio for the software solution developed by Asseco SEE based on the Kofax technology covers, at the moment, more than 50% of the banks in Romania.
